Your Deal Is Solid. So Why Does No Lender Come Back?
Good deals stall when the structure is wrong. Financely assesses your transaction, structures the debt and arranges it with lenders who actually fit.
Most Stalled Deals Have a Structure Problem, Not a Credit Problem
You know the asset. You know the numbers. You have a buyer, a project or a building, and you have a clear reason the money gets repaid.
So you sent the deck. Then you sent it again. A few lenders asked for more documents, one asked for a call, and then everything went quiet. If that sounds familiar, the problem is very rarely the deal. It is almost always the structure around it.
Three ways a good deal gets lost
When we look at transactions that have been shopped for months without a term sheet, we keep seeing the same three mistakes.
The wrong instrument
A borrower asks for a term loan when the deal really needs a letter of credit, an SBLC or an asset-based facility. The lender reads the request, sees a mismatch with the cash flows, and moves on without telling you why.
The wrong lender
A bank that does senior real estate debt will not fund a commodity trade. A private credit fund with a USD 25 million minimum will not look at a USD 4 million acquisition. Every lender has a box. Pitch outside it and you get silence.
The wrong package
Credit committees want to see repayment source, security, sponsor strength and downside protection in a few pages. A sales deck written for equity investors buries all of that, so the analyst gives up before reaching it.
The result
Lenders don't say no. They just don't say yes. You read that as "still in review" and keep waiting, while the deal gets older and harder to sell.
Every month costs you something. Supplier terms expire. Construction prices move. Sellers find other buyers. Your own credibility with the next lender drops, because a deal that has been around the market for six months looks like a deal other people have already passed on. Waiting is not free, and sometimes it costs you the deal itself.
What lenders see, and what they need to see
| What usually gets sent | What actually gets funded |
|---|---|
| A request for "funding" | A specific instrument, amount, tenor and security package that matches how the deal generates cash. |
| A pitch deck | A credit memorandum that answers the questions a credit committee asks, in the order it asks them. |
| A mass email to dozens of lenders | A short list of lenders who already finance this asset class, this ticket size and this jurisdiction. |
| Projections with no stress case | A base case, a downside case and a clear explanation of how the loan is repaid if things go wrong. |
| Documents sent as they are requested | A complete data room ready before the first lender call. |
Financely fixes the structure, then finds the capital
Financely is a debt advisory and arranging firm. We don't lend, and we don't spray your deal across the market. We work on your side of the table, and we do three things.
We assess your transaction. We look at the asset, the cash flows, the sponsor and the security, and we tell you plainly what a lender will think when it reads your file. If something will kill the deal in credit committee, you hear it from us first.
We structure the debt. We choose the instrument that fits, size it properly, and build the package lenders expect, from the credit memo to the model to the data room. Where the deal needs support, we add credit enhancement so it clears a lender's threshold.
We arrange it with lenders who fit. We draw on a network of more than 12,700 verified capital providers, including banks, private credit funds, trade finance houses and specialist lenders, and we approach only the ones whose mandate matches your deal.
Where we work
Our mandates cover structured trade and commodity finance, project finance, commercial real estate and acquisition finance, along with private credit placement for borrowers who have outgrown their bank.
Who this is for
This is for operating businesses, sponsors and developers with a real transaction and a real repayment source who have been stuck in the lender queue for too long. It is not for anyone looking for a guaranteed approval or a lender who skips due diligence. Those don't exist, and anyone who promises one is not someone you want near your deal.
Find out what your deal actually needs
Tell us about your transaction and we will send you an estimate showing the scope of work and the fee to structure and arrange it. No mass emails to lenders, no guesswork, just a clear plan.
P.S. If your deal has already been to a few lenders, that is fine. Tell us who you have spoken to and what they said. Knowing why the first round stalled is often the fastest way to fix the second.
Frequently asked questions
Is Financely a lender?
No. Financely is a debt advisory and arranging firm. We structure your financing and place it with lenders from our network of more than 12,700 verified capital providers.
What does the estimate include?
A description of the work needed to make your deal financeable, the proposed approach and the fee. You decide whether to proceed once you have seen it.
My deal was already rejected. Can you still help?
Often, yes. Many rejections come from a mismatch between the deal and the lender or the instrument, not from the deal itself. We look at what went wrong before deciding how to take it back to market.
What size of transaction do you work on?
We work on multimillion dollar transactions where proper structuring and underwriting make a difference. Send us the details and we will tell you honestly whether it fits.
