IPIP verification is fundamentally a translation exercise. The receiving side takes a vague technical label and converts it into ordinary banking facts that can be independently checked.

## Start with the Money Holder

Identify the regulated institution that currently holds the sender's money. If the proposal names only a 'platform,' 'server,' 'gateway' or 'operator,' the file is incomplete.

## Then Identify the Debit Event

A real transfer has an account or ledger position that decreases when value leaves the sending side. Ask what account will be debited, under whose authority and through what controlled banking process.

## Identify the Settlement Event

The most important technical question is not which IP port is used. It is what event causes the receiving bank to recognize final or available funds. That could involve correspondent accounts, domestic clearing, central-bank money or another accepted mechanism. The exact answer depends on the institutions involved.

## Authenticate the Counterparty Independently

Banking verification should not depend on the contact details embedded in the promoter's documentation. The receiving side should source official contact information independently and confirm whether the named institution recognizes the proposed transaction and workflow.

## Demand a Coherent Commercial Narrative

Compliance teams evaluate whether the size, purpose and parties fit together. A nine-figure payment from an unknown sender to an unrelated corporate recipient with a promise that the recipient may retain a large percentage is not made credible by adding server terminology.

## Evidence Hierarchy

| Evidence | Usefulness |
| ---------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------- |
| Receiving-bank account credit | Strongest evidence of actual receipt |
| Direct bank-to-bank confirmation | Strong for institutional verification |
| Source-of-funds documents | Necessary for economic origin |
| Technical connection documentation | Useful only after institutions are verified |
| Screenshots/private dashboards | Weak and easily fabricated |
| Promoter statements | Not independent evidence |

Financely's [IPIP receiving-account service](https://www.financely.io/ktt-ipip-transfer-receiving-account-setup?ref=blog.financely.io) is built around this hierarchy: institutional onboarding and source-of-funds review come before technical execution.

## Need to Validate an IPIP File Before Setup?

A credible file should identify the sender institution, debit account, source of funds, settlement route and receiving purpose before technical coordination begins.

## Frequently Asked Questions

### Is a server screenshot evidence of funds?

No. It may show data presented by a system, but it does not independently establish a regulated account balance or receiving-bank credit.

### What should be verified before IP information is exchanged?

The institutions, account ownership, source of funds, transaction purpose and receiving-bank willingness to review the route.

### Can a legitimate bank use direct IP connectivity?

Yes. The existence of direct connectivity is plausible; the label IPIP still does not identify the underlying settlement method by itself.
